I recently discovered this while examining my aquarium after it was completely dark in the house. I am not sure what it is. But these 'tendrils' or 'sweepers' seem to radiate from a central point and stretch out for several inches and flit about looking for food I am guessing.

It's a terebellid worm. These are common on live rock and may begin to inhabit the sand. They are good scavengers (detritus feeders) and interesting to watch. Notice how ultra-sensitive they are to vibrations and light.
