It certainly looks like one, and if it is you were lucky enough to get a rose color morph! Anyway you can get a clearer shot?

Considering people shell out 100-200 dollars for these things, that's a pretty good deal. However, it does look a little bleached, so it could probably benefit from some feedings.

From the FAQ:

Q: I have a small anemone looking critter that is about 1" or so in diameter with short stubby tentacles, and what might be bubble tips. Is this an aiptasia or did I get lucky and get a baby bubble tip?
A: You probably didnt get as lucky as you think, cause it probably is Anemonia majano , a small anemone which most people consider to be a pest. In most cases, this anemone can reproduce quickly and spread thoughout the tank, and like Aiptasia, can sting its neighbors quite badly. It's unlikely that you will find a biological control such as peppermint shrimp for these, however you probably will have better luck using an injection of limewater if you find that they must be controlled in your tank. For further reading, you can check out Terry Siegel's Article on Aquarium Frontiers where he describes his use of Chaetodon lunula for control of Anemonia (which should only be used in extreme cases in this author's opinion).

Prowler,

At 5cm it is already bigger than most majano anemones. The color is also not like a majano. It really does look like a small rose bubble anemone (Entacmaea quadricolor). I think you did get lucky.

Could you take some better photos?

Agreed. I've never seen majano anemones with tentacles shaped that way. How is it doing?

I definately agree it's not a majano, trust me, I have them, but I wanted to comment on prices....For what you guys are talking big bucks, I can get here for 30 dollars!!!! I should start a business!! Actually, the certain store sucks, but all corals and anemones are 30 dollars aside from clams and very large items. Those prices are really high around here locally. 8O

surfdawake, ouside of Cleveland Ohio. The store I'm talking about most probably don't even know what they are when they see them, or most other corals etc. for that matter. They are about 80% freshwater, and only about 20% saltwater. RMS. Aquatic Technologies is my main store, and his prices are normal, or actually high. RMS doesn't always have them, but these guys really don't know how to price saltwater items very well for profit......all corals are pretty much 30 dollars regardless, and if you hit on shipment day, there's a good chance of finding a healthy piece for 30 bucks. Anyway, their lack of knowledge is the customers gain IMO. I have had to explain to them why their feather star wouldn't come out in the lights, and let them know their zebra moray wouldn't eat their fish..plus several other things. It's just a fluke that things are cheap there because they don't know what price to give things. :) :D Never ever ever buy a fish there though.
