Snails

We are starting a new tank and have live rock in it. Came from tanks the store had going a while and broke down as they seem to be re-arranging things. They have some nice life on them so far, but we are sure our 2 new little guests came from them. 2 snails, likely the same species. They are tiny, the smallest being about a mm across and maybe 2mm for the biggest. They spend most of the time we see them on the glass. They do come out during the day though, so not sure if they are the species mentioned in the FAQ.

I am worried they could over breed and be a nuiscance. What do you think, and what should I do to make the decision to remove or leave alone?

I think you should be fine. From what I've seen snails never get to plague proportions like they can w/ freshwater tanks.

Thanks, I want to get a pic of them but took me a while to figure out how to manually focus it on them since it wouldn't auto focus. Now that I know the little buggers have not shown their shell during the daylight.

On the up side I was reading about some snails that eat other snails. I guess if they were the odd snail out and a problem I could get a couple snail killers, let them feast, get rid of them and get some good snails in there.

If they ever show their mugs in the light of day I will do, but since then have not seen them. We have added some Astraila(sp) snails to help keep algae in check while we get the tank more stable.
