I have in my refugium and some in my main tank A LOT of what I believe to be spaghetti worms (after reading the FAQ)

Well this is good.. but can these guys possibly get to a point of Too much and too many?

The top of the sand in my refugium is teaming with bright red tentacles, I have been trying to feed them. a quarter sized piece of knori lasts a night. My refugium is 1/2 of a 20 Gallon.
If it's ok to encourage them, are they omnivores, carnivores or herbivores?
I'm not seeing any traces of brine that I hatched last week or anything else in there... which is kind of why I wanted a refugium.
There is a nerite snail living with them and he seems to be ok with them.

the population of scavengers always equals the amount of food available

rather than artificially pumping up the scavenger populations and artificially increasing the bioload in the tank, i'd suggest cuttin back on feeding them supplementarily, in gradually decreasing amounts (so as not to crash large numbers of worms) and let them naturally populate in the amount proportionate to the overall natural production of your system
