If it looks like it might have a shell underneath the mantle, then, according to the eminent John Brandt, it's a shield limpet. See one of my ID questions here earlier.

what kind of purple algae is this, starting to see it show up, do I get rid of it?

Kind of looks like cyano to me. Start with good ro/di water and lots of circulation. It can be syphoned out and I would suggest doing that as part of your water change.

No, not according to me :) This one does look like Stomatella rather than a limpet.
