Hey. Folks I'm as green as the algae in my tank as far as marine stuff goes. Anyhow, I had a problem with aptasia well actually I only noticed it on one rock and it seemed still quite small but it scared me. After looking around and searching sites, I finally decided to try "Joe's Juice" . I have to say I was quite impressed. No mess. No trying to stab the little buggers with a needle. Just put it near their mouths and they suck it up like candy. Next thing you know they're starting to curl up in their little holes and they're dead. I definitely wouldn't recomend it for a big problem but if you need to nip them in the bud, so to speak, it's a pretty good product. I have a small tank so I didn't want to confine a Copper Banded Butterfly in that little space. I have heard mix opinions on peppermint shrimp and berghia are near impossible and highly expensive to get. Hope it helps. I'm hoping someone can help me out with the many problems I'm sure to run into. Mabuhay!

I've tried Joe's Juice this past week, and while it did immediately get rid of the aiptasia, the aiptasia has now come back in the exact same spots it was before. However, this may be due to inadequate dosage, as I accidentally drowned one of the bigger ones in the stuff and it has yet to show any sign of returning. Will try again and make sure, if this is the case then I am more than happy to recommend Joe's Juice to anyone. I have a dwarf lionfish in this 29-gallon aquarium, so a butterfly and especially shrimp were out of the question. Joe's Juice is a wonderful alternative if you have a difficult tank to treat.

I had good luck with injecting three Aiptasia -- one small, two medium-sized -- with a Kalkwasser paste. Just mix it up like Fix-All until you get a pasty consistency, draw a small amount into a syringe applicator, and inject the paste right into the center (oral cavity) of the anemone. It will suck in the paste right in, and the pest will totally disappear within an hour.

Be careful not to drip excess paste onto other things like inverts, corals etc.

Where does one get this Joe's Juice? We put Peppermint Shrimp in our tank and they didn't do a thing.

The only thing my peppermint did was munch on baby stomatellas. Joes juice worked very well, but the one largest Aiptasia did come back. However, I nuked it a 2nd time when it was still small and it's not been back (months ago).
