I have two non-photosynthetic corals that hitchhiked with a clam and with some rock. I think that they are non-photosynthetic because they have clear tentacles (except for some small white dots). Pic 1 and Pic 3 are the same coral, Pic2 is different (I think).

I'm a bit surprised to see non-photosynthetics bulding skeleton: I thought that they can't (I thought that the simbiotic algae are essential to calcification)...

Any idea what are those?

Many corals that are mostly feeders make hard parts. Sun corals do...

I think there are some around northern florida that do too_Oculina.

It looks more like Phyllangia than Balanophyllia.
Balanophyllia has somewhat of a bulging mouth, while mine don't.
