Hi there,

Big hint: all those algae were collected at Radio Island on NC Coast about one month ago (8/21). Algae (A) is awsome, but it seems that it really wants to float around as opposed as having a root (the part that I put in the sand rotted). Algae (B) (the red one) is slowly dying... any idea what can I do to prevent that? The rest seem to do OK, I'm just curious what they are and what they need to thrive...

Thanks,
Mihai

Yeah sure, post a whole mid-Atlantic botanical survey and watch us dance. We will get them all before midnight.

LOL. Thanks a lot John, I knew you love a challenge. Many thanks! Now it's clear why B doesn't grow: it needs to be tumbled :-( . Live and lean, I'll not collect it again.

Thousands thanks again! Promise not to do it again ;-)

One more question John: what reference do you use? My best souce for algae is "Reef Invertebrates" by Fenner and Calfo, and it doesn't come even close of solving my problems...

Thanks,
M.
