Can someone help me ID this coral please. I bought it as a flowering colt, but I suspect that it is a Dendronephthya.

I think I'd have to agree with you. If the picture were a little clearer it would make it easier to decide.

Looks like it might be a Scleronephyta also - really hard to get an exact idea unless you extract a sclerite and have a good microscope to work with.

Simple way, if it's still alive in 3 months it's a colt :)

Well it's still alive and apparently thriving. It is not a colt for certain. The sclerites are most definately present and prickly along the base. I saw the same coral in the other LFS and he said that it is a mostly photosynthetic coral that he agreed might belong in the neptheid family that they also carry and they reproduce like crazy for him, so I guess I am in luck!.
