what is this???? found it on my living rock

found a pink ball about 3inch in diameter on my living rock,, it has thin thread like tentacles and is in between rocks it looks like a sticky goo , anyone any ideas what this is and is it reef safe in my tank

First off...

As for the pink ball, from your description it sounds like a type of sponge. They are beneficial in tanks as they provide some additional filtration of particles from the water. I'm guessing that where there is light, you can't see the growth?

Nothing to worry about, just one more animal to add in to the diversity equation.
