Any clue? My browsing of the reefs.org hitch-hiker guide leads me to the possibility of a sponge, but I am unsure. It is not moble, and there are more than one.

It also looks like some pictures of an encrusting coral that is just not extending it's polyps.

Impossible to tell from that picture, but my guess at the moment would be a species of Porifera ( sponge ).

Beleive it or not that's the best I could do. It's 1/2 in glass and the autofocus on my camera wants to focus on the glass not the subject. Sorry. I also suspect a sponge, but I am always on the lookout to learn something new.
