I just bought some green stars and got a few interesting polyps that came along for the ride, does anybody know what these are?

I have no idea what the white blob is that you've circled in the top pic. Can you get a clearer shot of it?

Second pic is some type of anemone. Baby bta maybe.

How does he get rid of the majano?

If it's just one simply pry under its foot with something thin and flat and pop it off the rock. If you don't want any in your tank get it now before it multiplies.

David Mohr

btw my guess on the white blob: sponge.

Thanks for the help guys. The majano is seated pretty well in a bed of star polyps, I gave it a mouthful of Kalk and it went away for a few days, but it is slowly reappearing. I will probably have to order some Joe's Juice as there doesn't appear to be a good way to just pop it off.

Not to say that these anemones are great things to have and you should pay for them or anything, but they spread significantly less agressively than glass anemones (aptaisa spp) and they are significantly more interesting to look at.

Just my opinion, but I leave mine in place. Joe's kills them as well as aptasia, so if they get out of hand....

NUKE em.

I have purposely gathered some of the other small anemone species because they are beautiful under the proper lighting. Most of the smaller anemone species can be nuisances if you are not careful.
