I'm pretty sure I identified the macro I'm having problems with as Dictyota menstraulis. Anyone else have problems with this? How did you control it? It's spreading like crazy.

perhaps you could try some herbivorous fishes if you don't want to remove them manually

It's been in my tank for quite some time, approximately 3-4 months. I remove it manually, but any small piece that floats around ends up attaching itself to anything and everything. It's quickly becoming an epidemic.

The tank is a 20 gallon nano. I researched herbivorous fish and decided on a Red Sea Mimic Blenny, but he won't touch it.

From the research I've done, this algae flourishes in tanks with good water parameters and is not palatable to herbivorous fish.

I may have to try an urchin. That's all I need though, a clumbsy urchin clip-clopping around my tank knocking everything over and munching all my coraline alagae............

if you would like to try why not try a sea hare, they eat many differrent plants and a lot of hte plants too, I have one and it is helping me control algae well.

I have it too. I have two different urchins in my 90, they don't touch it. Neither my yellow tang. Actually nothing seems to eat it. Luckly it only grows close to may return nozles and my overflow -> I use it for nutrient export (grows pretty fast). I don't mind it much, it doesn't look that bad.
