We've noticed a few little white filter feeders appearing on our green star polyp recently. They are the length of a grain of rice, fatter and appear to be slightly fuzzy with a fanworm-ish filter feeding crown. Any idea what they are and if they should be eradicated before they become a problem? The polyp doesn't seem to like them.

These are a type of sponge. Sycon sp. IIRC. Harmless filter feeder but it could crowd out some polyps for space. Pick it off if you don't like the look of it.

Great, thanks guys. The polyp is still growing, so unless they start to really increase in numbers we'll probably just leave them on there.
