Alrighty, I finally caught it on "film" - a small crab who's living on a Tubastra colony...well, more precisely, underneath. Not sure if he came in on it or not (we've had it for a few months now) but I bet he's happy either way with all the "target feeding" he gets by proximity to the colony! So, is he a commensal of the Tubastreas, or is he just a plain old crab I'm going to have to "deal with" down the line?

Wow, he sure is pretty.

I have never heard of a tubastrea commensal (Of course that means little!) but it is odd how he so closely matches the color of the coral. As if they were meant for each other. :)
