New Reefer
Just made some upgrades on my 36g reef and found a sandy cocoon leading from a live rock to a soft leather coral. Coming out of the rock was the head to i believe a eunicid worm. It was the thickness of a pencil and i could see 3 inches but i would guess its about 6 inches or more. Just bought a great rock of xenia stalks and dont want them munched. What can i do? and what should i do??
Thanks very much in advance, im havin trouble finding answers

Welcome to RDO!

I have no idea how it an eunicid worm should look, but there are people here that do :). However, without a picture is really hard...

Eunicids have a distinctive 5 tentacles around their head. Also have small hairs alond the length of their body. I can attest from personal experience they will scavenge and eat softies, mishrooms , whatever they can find as they grow - the one I pulled out of my tank was about 2' - Steve Weast had an 8 footer he captured a few years back!
