Don't hold that! Your looking at a bristle worm. They can be beneficial or harmful, sounds like a higher percent are beneficial though.

p.s. they aren't called bristle worms for nothing. I was serious about the don't hold that!

now you tell me! j/k

actually he was being attacked by a little worm who was also not doing to well.. i seperated them.. the other worm seemed to be the nastier of the two.. (longer, skinnier, red and bristly) this little guy just crawled a little on my fingers and wiggled at me..

he's still in a plastic cup.. not in with my live rock..

oh... also.. he is furry all over his back.. not just along his sides.. the only place that isn't is his belly..

i didn't think he was a bristle worm because he didn't have a hairless back like the pics I have seen..

Do you have any fish or corals in your tank or you just protect the worms like that?

Next big thing will be saltwater worm tanks!

I have a tank with JUST water, sand and rock

it's still cycling

both were in the process of dying from being shipped with the rock.. so I didn't see any sense in letting one torture the other since i didn't know what they were

pardon me for asking a simple question

I would just put it back in the tank - put it on th other side if you want to seperate them.

Simple joke my friend, no harm meant.

Let's see a pic of that tank when you get the chance, since we love to see them! :)
