i bought xenia coral on a live rock and i noticed that i got some another coral on the side of the rock... the structure looks like crain coral... its like tiny candy coral... here is a picture of the biggest "part" of the coral.. [i have something like 9 off those spread all over the side of the rock that i can see]

the cora is circled by a red circle-

still hard to see. perpaps little blastomussa heads?
are they coming out of calcium based tubes/skeletons?

yes' i saw one head sticking out towards the light.. the xenia is on top of the rock and those head are under so they are tring to "see" the light...
any ideas??

i'd turn that rock alittle so they get better light. they might grow faster and we'll be able to make a better id. plus, you might end up liking them better than your xenia :wink:

in another forum ive heard 2 other ideas... gonipora and favia.. what do you think??
i doent look like any coral that i saw!!

the dead skeleton that they seem to be growing out of resembles a favia skeleton, but the living tissue doesn't. i don't know.
