I filled up my 75gal to leak test and then added 2 gal of vinegar and put 2 used MP40s there to clean everything out. 2 days later, my water is very cloudy and MP40s both have white cottob ball consistency growth on them as well as the silicone seals in the tank. whats the best plan of action? :banghead:

should I empty the water and replace with fresh tap water or leave it like that and hope its actually cleaning the stuff?

Thats alot of vinegar. Anyways 2 days is more then enough cleaning now you got to rinse the tank and clean everything very well with regular tap water.

I hope you arent using tap water to start this tank up...

nah, i already got 45gal of RO/DI waiting to go into the tank and will make more as soon as I empty the container.

NYSteelo (on utube) said 1 part vinegar to 5 parts water, so I was thinking that I needed even more vinegar.... :eek1:

thanks, will empty tank today and clean all the vinegar and junk off

You can get a bacterial bloom in a new setup while cleaning? That's new.
2 gal of vinegar to 73 gallons of water is Not a lot of vinegar. It's roughly 37.5w to 2.v
I use vinegar 100% and have never had a problem.
