fish only

I have a fish only tank. I had lots of purple coraline algae growing on some live rock and my dead coral. However, about two weeks ago all the coral started to bleach. A little green algae started to grow but that died as well. Anyway, the chem looks okay except maybe the nitrate level is a little high. Any ideas on the cause of the bleaching. I can't tell yet but it looks like the purple algae is starting to grow back but at this point I can't be certain.

Have you ever measure the calcium or alkalinity of the water?

Have you added any medications?
