Magnesium sources

I dont know if this Q has been addressed before, But i suppelment my nano with Mg. It uses a lot of Mg because i dose with kalk slowly 24/7. My question is. I use seachem reef advantage Mg, i like the solid form because you can add the exact amount to the tank to get the Mg level i want. The stuff is $$ But it looks like Epsom salts, can epsom salt be used as a source of Mg for the tank and how d o determine the dosage to maintian the correct level of MG.

Well I think a balanced solution could be:

9 parts of magnesium cloride
1 part of epson salt (magnesium sulfate)

Have you ever measured the magnesium level to know that you need the supplement?
