Hey due, planning on building a stand for a tank. 75g that is, if theirs any caperter out there that could give some example would be great, also planning on using hardwood, don't Realdy want to use softwood. Would like to know if some one has already build something out of 1x3 or 1x4 oak. Also know that the 75g and the 90g have the same footprint, so I'm guessing that hardwood will be a better choise. Thks.

I have seen bueller work, man the guy is good.

Here are 2 made out of ripped down 2x4's and skinned with "Softwood" ply. Hardwood is nice but can get VERY expensive....

The above is for my 57 rimless.

This is one I made for my 65, again all "Softwood".

Here's a few pictures of the stand I made for my 125.
It's The top frame is 2x6, with the rest being 2x4. 2x6's were used on the tob so I didnt have to use upright supports in the middle.
It is sheeted with a softwood. Aspen wood if I remember correctly.

whats up with an update on this... lol doing the same thing due to my brace on my current 75 is broken... need to do a complete build so im taking the opportunity to do a drilled tank and taller stand.. also incorporate an algae scrubber and phosphate reactor.. still mapping everything out but i want my stand to be tall (52").. im gonna make a thread on my build as soon as i find out my tank situation (not sure if i can drill my aqueon 75 gallon tank i just purchased) as soon as i find out if i can drill it or if i should go bigger and acrylic or just go back with my hang on overflow again...

75 is a nice shape but a 120 is even better. More depth and the side view is a lot wider.
Have you considered that? You can always use that 75 for a righteous sump.
I have a tank build with a 150 over a 75 but it's the same footprint as a 120 if you want to see how it appears.
