Hello everyone, my name is Josh and new to these forums.

I'm looking to build/buy an led setup for my 55g Tanganyikan Rift Lake Cichlid Tank. (48x11x18). I currently run the GE F&S 9325k bulbs (pinkish) and while I'm happy with the color rendition for the most part, I don't get the fluorescent color pop like the blues in the some of the fins of my Neolamprologus that I would like.

I was thinking CREE led's because everyone keeps saying they are the best but then I found out about wingo leds which seem to be getting positive feedback and much cheaper. I figure someone else must make quality led's other than CREE.

This is a fish only tank, the only thing I want to grow is nice green algae for my Tropheus to graze on. I want a nice strong shimmer effect (it should be pretty strong in my tank because of the rippling my filter outlets create based on my tests with a large gen2 LED Maglite). I don't need the light to be really intense as some of the fish like it a little more subdued but I know many Tropheus do graze among the rocks in the stronger lit shallows in the wild. Other than that, I just want the fishes color to pop with a slight marine look but not too blue, nice balanced color with a marine tint (this tank looks pretty nice color wise - (insert manhattan reefs web address)/forum/freshwater/113872-tank-pix-my-new-wingo-led-lights.html ) but I don't think I need or want green or red led's. It would be nice if the lights had enough juice to grow low to medium plants but this is not the priority if cost becomes an issue.

I would like to leave some room on the heatsink for future expandability should I upgrade to a 75g or 90g.

Let me know your color combination recommendations etc if you any of you have the chance. Thanks in advance!!
