i recently picked up an AGA factory stand.
i would like to add support to the stand as i want to be comfortable the tank will be supported for years to come. in my opinion the factory stand is cheap. has anyone added support to factory stands before? if so what was your planning. i am not sure if i simply add additional support legs (attach to what part of stand) and then cross brace every two feet. do i keep floor of stand, im not against sump being on floor, that i would put something down on top of. As always thanks for input.

I have thought the same thing......these stands cant support nothing?
They look like they are built so cheap. But believe it or not they can support that tank no matter how much weight you put on them. I have seen it with my own eyes. If you want to get a guarantee from the company call them and they should stand behind their product.
But to give you piece of mind if you want to support the stand I was told a long time ago by a old wise man, then support all 4 corners and thats all that matters. You can put the tank on four bricks and the glass can support any weight you put in it (within reason)

No Sweat:cheers:
