Hey guys, I want to sort of revamp my filtration and I was wondering if there is anyone that could help me with my plumbing.

Currently I have a Mag12 Return pump and Aqua C UV 25W connected to it, returning water into my main display. I don't like how my uv is getting 1200gph when it should be around 400gph. So i was thinking about getting another Mag7 to power my uv plus a phosban 150 reactor and perhaps a third optional valve or something, if I decide to add another reactor(biopellets).. I would then have my mag12 just pump directly into my tank.. I also use vinyl tubing and would like to change to pvc tubing or something better maybe braided nylon tubing? What do you guys think about my idea? Is there anyone that can do this for me? I don't mind at all paying for your service and time. Thanks in advance!

I would keep it as simple as possible. Use your return pump for your return with a union and ball vale after the pump and use separate pumps for your reactors and such if you have room in your sump. There's nothing easier to service than a system where each unit has its own pump and tubing. You can easily pull the very small pumps needed for your uv and reactors, disconnect, clean the pump and simply put it all back together again when clean.

You can make almost ANY idea work for you but my preference has always been dedicated pumps. It has always worked for me is all.

Good luck.

Also just use regar PVC for the larger lines and black or clear vinyl tubing for the smaller

The only problem with having multiple pumps is the heat issue. Running additional pumps on top of a Mag 12 can def be a heat issue. If your tank gets to about 81-82 in the summer then even a small power head will heat up too much.

There are so many things that have to be thought of. I for one, am a manifold fan. I like the fact of one pump and its done.

Yes you only have one pump and if it goes down then you have one. Which reminds me that I need to get a backup...
