I seem to remember reading (somewhere) that there is a minimum silicone thickness for larger tanks. You can't just squish two pieces of glass together and have it hold. You need X amount of silicone between the panes? Am I crazy or did I actually read it?

Also, when I was cutting apart my 58, it had black silicone. On each of the corner joints there were these small (1/16") dots of clear silicone inside Why were they there? was the tank tacked together at the corners and then siliconed after?

And of course I didn't take pictures!
