cutting wood

Hi,

Anyone knows of any lumber yard or any place that they would cut woods to my exact specification. I am in the process of making a stand cabinet and matching shelves. Since it will be in the living room, I would like to match it to rest of my furniture. I tried home depot, but their cuttings are not accurate. I had to throw the woods away because the guy at home depot could not cut them perfectly. I don?t have the setup or the space to cut those big pieces.

Anyone know of such a place? Any lumberyard in BK, Qns that will do that? I just need the pieces to be equal height and length.

Aren't there a # of lumber yards on Roosevelt Ave., going towards Shea right before the Grand Centeral Parkway.

Lumber yards or carpentry shops. Or spend the cash on a table saw (bout 100$ in home depot) and do it yourself. You probably lost more than that on your time running around and throwing away the wood from home depot.

Find a local cabinet shop, or true lumber yard, and ask if they will cut to your exact size. But I agree with Tosiek, by the time you are done doing the running around, you would have been better off buying a cheap table saw

I dont have the space to cut them. I live in an apt on 3rd floor. So no space for a table a saw

Use a hand saw...I made cuts all by hand for my stand in my apartment. It's not that hard, just make a little room by moving stuff around for a day or two.

You will never ever ever ever get a straight line cutting it by hand. I don't care how good you are its always gonna be off by a 16th somewhere along your cut. and u'll be there half the day sanding it to get that straight line.

If you want it done right bring it to a good lumber yard or a carpentry shop.

PM me on your last resort if you need something cut.

If you don't have room for a table saw...go rent a circular saw from homedepot. Shouldn't be more than $30.
