plastic cover's for DIY glass baffle's

Hey everyone,

just thought I'd share a few pic's of these plastic glass covers [ for those who have cut glass as their baffles] I found in Lowe's. My sump baffles are diy and made from cut glass, well, the last time I was messing around in the sump my hand hit one of them and gave me a nasty cut.

I was in Lowe's the other day and saw these plastic end cover's [ look's like their used for paneling or something like that]. thought I'd give it a shot so I bought them.

They fit Perfectly!!! with a little silicone... DONE.

You could also sand the glass with a sandblock so it wont be sharp as an alternative
But looks good

you could I guess...but they were already sealed in and it would be a pain in the a$$. It was just easier to cap them.

Cool, everything looked so clean so I thought you just sealed it and capped it. If it was already siliconed in, then its easier to cap

Another cool thing could be to silicone the caps into the sump to make the baffles removable. Not quite sure why you would want to remove the baffles but you could have the option

Very cool Idea aaron....didn't think of that. guess if one of the glass baffles cracked you can just replace it. Trying to get this think up and running before Christmas....Don't think so thou with Santa coming for the Kids. I gave my xmas list to my wife....we'll see what he brings for me. A nice set of metal halides would be lovely!!

Next time you get your glass cut have them seam all the edges and you wont get cut. Those caps do look nice though.
