DIY PC Lights

Has anyone tried buying a 2-96W ballset for shop lights that you can buy at Home Depot and hooking them up to 2 96w PC bulbs? I bought a DIY 2-55w PC Kit from reef fanatic and it came with a barely ballset just like the one i was looking at home depot. The wiring seems to be the same but I don't want to risk it.

Are PC ballset differ from shop light ballset?
