VHO DIY

I am planning on buying a 29 gallon tank with Fiji live rock. Eventually I plan on having just a few fish & invertebrates. I am hoping to build my own VHO lighting. Where do I go for plans to build one? I am new at this game and the info out there is pretty overwhelming.

A ballast, end caps, and a few bulbs. Pretty easy DIY project. If you use something like an IceCap VHO ballast (highly recommended) it comes with a diagram on how to wire it. Other ballast tend to be bulb specific and number of bulbs specific. The IceCap ballast is very flexible and easy to work with.

Can even be used with Normal Output, HO, or VHO bulbs without needing to rewire anything.

I would recomend using a fulham workhorse ballast.. has all the same benifits as a IceCap at less than 1/4 the cost.

they are a multi configuration ballast, you can run a PC and a NO at the same time for example.
