powder coating

hi.
Anybody know if it is something that can be done DIY? A local shop want to charge me $150 for powder coat a metal stand, but I see powder coating equipement in Harbor Freight for about the same amount of money...

It can be done DIY, the only draw back is that the powder coating needs to be baked on. For that you would need a very large oven. Most of the p/c systems for car guys assume that you're going to be doing small parts that will fit in an old oven to bake it at the right temp (~400*F).
