building a grow out tank

I am starting to think about building my first grow out tank. The tank would draw water out of my sump/refugium and return it to the sump/refugium. I will also use some bulkheads for plumbing.

Should I make this using glass or acrylic?

What dimensions would work the best for softies, LPS, and SPS?

Any suggestions or lighting? MH, PC, VHO, etc. ?
