This past weekend, we completed the new and improved Nilsen Reactor Mark II.
The features that I wanted to incorporate over the previous design was:
1) Larger volume
2) Easy Access
3) Easy drain for clean out
4) Larger pump driven
5) Easy pump clean out
This lead me to the following design:
Features
1) 6" cast acrylic for tube, 23" high
2) 3/8" cast sheeting
3) check valve on input
4) Garden hose drain
5) unions on pump for easy cleaning
6) keyhole flanges on lid
7) swiveling John Guest fitting for output.
A friend, keithw, who has a great woodshop and a reefer as well, did a lot of theconstruction and came up with a lot of jigs and cutting techniques for the tube, keyholes, routing, etc.
More pictures of soon to be finished nilsen reactors and a beckett skimmer in the middle.
