upgrade lights..

Alright heres what I may plan on doing just need to know if it sounds right. I have a hamilton 4' hood with 4 110w VHO's in it with 2 ballasts. It has predrilled holes with nuts and bolts for a MH upgrade. I also have 2 175w Hamilton MH pendants. I'm wondering if I can take the middle 2 VHO's out and buy 2 MH sockets and mount them in there. Then strip the pendants apart and pop the wires into the new sockets. Does that sound like it will work?

By taking the middle VHO's out I mean just the bulbs and leaving the sockets in
