I am new to acrylic fabrication, so I have a question...plans for a calcium reactor I found online calls for 6" acrylic tubing, yet doesn't say whether it requires cast or extruded. The price between the two is considerable. If the tubing only needs to be drilled, is it necessary for the piece to be cast? Also, any links for this size pipe would be appreciated as well. Thanks in advance!

Build it with cast. It's a lot more expenisve, but it's also a lot stronger.

There was a thread here in the DIY section that discussed the pros/cons of each. I can't remeber the name of the thread. maybe someone else will!

Cast is definitely the way to go. It's stronger and more water resistant than extruded because of the ability to use higher molecular weight PMMA (polymethyl methacrylate). IIRC you can purchase cast acrylic from Aquatic Ecosystems.
