It is my understanding the the correct ballast for the 250 watt 10K AB bulbs is An ANSI M80 ballast. I do not want to under run these bulbs But also don't want to spend $139ea for a bare Advance M80 Ballast.

I also believe that variious manufacturers of kits Are using M138 ballasts for 250W AB bulbs and HQI applications.

Can anyone directme to aa cheaper M80 other than Advance??

Regards,
Don

you could try a core & coil ballast. you can find them at your local greybar, hellolights.com, and other places. Do a search for DIY metal halides. You will find something on the subject.

This thread is a little old and I dont know if you have come up with a solution yet but I was just quoted $57 each for Universal (ANSI M80) ballasts from Granite City Electric supply, There should be a local one near you in Peabody
