Hi all!
I'm in process to build a second skimmer
this time I want to build a taller one...........
do you think that a mak 4 can handle a 24" tall and 6" diameter reaction tube? or there will be to much water in the tube?
all together will be: 24" React tube +5" sump =30" without the collection cup
thanks

What is the GPH of the Mak4?

I don't think there is any such thing as too much flow through a skimmer.

Hi Louey!!
the MAK 4 has 1.180 GPH at 4', and its pressure rated,
what I meant about the water is : that the reaction tube will be 2 feet tall
and it will contain +/- 6 gallons of water...vertically
and becouse of the water pressure..the pump will be pushing hard (IMO)
without the big performance.... and again this INMO.. or it will be fine?
thanks

I ran 1250 GPH through my 18" tall chamber. My tube sits on top of a box that adds another 8" of height to the skimmer. I still have to stop down the gate valve on the drain to keep the water in the tube a sufficient height for good skimming.

I am not sure if I understand your question.

6" diameter. Sequence T-4.

I would rather run an Iwaki 55, but that'll come later.

Yes, it is the Fergy model. It worked great for the 3 weeks that I ran it on my 75. It is way overkill for that size tank and doesn't fit underneath the stand.

It is sitting in my "fish room" wait for the 300 to come to fruition.
