Hello,

I have a few pairs of seahorses that I'd like to try and breed so I'm looking for plans for a double 55g stand, one on top of the other like a set of bunk beds. I see plans all over the place for single 55g tanks but can't seem to find anything about doubles. Any ideas?

Thanks!

Thanks, I don't have any yet, figured I'd ask if there were any out there before trying to redesign a single. :)

Ok, got this from garf:

Stand Dimensions:
Stand Height = 12"
Stand Width = 13"
Stand Length = 48"

Cut List:
Top Frame:
2 - 2 x 4 x 48
4 - 2 x 4 x 10

Bottom Frame:
2 - 48 x 2 x 4
2 - 2 x 4 x 10

Uprights:
6 - 2 x 4 x 12

Stand Top:
1 - 3/4 inch plywood - 48 x 13

Aquarium Stand Construction Procedure
a. Inspect all pieces for rough or flawed edges. Sand as needed.
b. Lay out boards for top frame.
c. Screw the end boards and supports to front and back pieces
d. Lay out boards for bottom frame.
e. Screw the end boards and supports to front and back pieces
f. Screw the upright boards to bottom frame.
g. Screw the upright boards to the top frame.
h. Put the 3/4" plywood top on the stand.
i. Cover the stand with your choice of covers i.e 1/4 inch finish plywood.

That puts the bottom tank at 12" off the ground, but how do I add the top tank? I'm worried about center supports for the top tank.

Thanks
