Does anyone suggest useing silicone to seal bulkheads installed in the rear wall of the tank? Or do you install them dry and hand tighten? Thanks.

Hand tightened is all you need. No silcone adhesive.

You could put a thin amount of vaseline on the rubber gasket.

It's easy enough to water test your buckhead after it is installed and before you fill your tank all the way up.

I use T+2 teflon paste. Caution though, it makes it really easy to tighten so don't tighten it too much or you'll deform the gasket.

I put a THIN layer on the gasket. It helps seal it a bit. I try to keep it off the threads, but it doesn't always happen.

I put the paste on the bottom of the gasket and a little on the threads. Just hand tighted lightly and test for leaks. If it leaks tighten it a little more. It does n't take a lot of force to make the bulkhead water tight. Overtightening will destroy the gasket though.
