CPR Bak Pak... improvements/modifications?

Hello all!

I have a CPR Bak Pak external hang-on skimmer, and I thought I remember reading somewhere back in the day that there are some improvements that can be done. These included silencing and performance improvements. Anyone have any links for these modification? I'm gonna hack mine up to try and make it run better, but a little direction and historical experience would help quite a bit. :lol: I'm going for silence, personally. Anyway, any help would be awesome. Thanks!

The ones I know of are:

1. Running an airline threw the unit and adding a limewood airstone in the reaction chamber.

2. Using a maxijet 1200, modded so that the air goes threw the impaler.

3. For quieting the skimmer down, just use a much longer airline.

4. Remove the check valve and run wet.
