Replacing 55's top rim

i recently had the center barce snap on a 55 and ordered an entire rim from glasscages. i was just wondering about a temporary bracing.

any good ideas?

maybe some tips on installing the new rim too

well to anyone wondering it was a huge PITA to get the old rim off. the new one went on easily enough though.

Was the new rim free? Did you do it while it was full of water?

i had to drain the tank 3/4 of the way. i was being an idiot and pushing a heater against the back while holding the front and DOH, the brittle middle brace broke and the tank flexed out about 1/2 inch at the middle. new rim was 10$. i set a 29 on the floor and drained some water into it then started to try and get the rim off. i pushed i pulled i yanked couldnt get the thing to pop.
ended up just breaking it off in pieces. funny think is when i was moving a 65 tall i popped the top rim free with barely any pressure,heh go figure the 55 wouldnt budge because i needed it to.
