Hello, I am trying to figure some things:
First off all I am trying to stick in an overflow on a 12 gallon biocube. Do you know if the plastic on the back is hard to drill? Secondly, how big a stand pipe will I need if I am using a Quiet One 1200 with 4 foot head? On the tank I have it on now, I am using a 3/4" stand pipe (not a durso, etc.) and I have it dialed back to prevent the syphon effect. But in the Biocube I am going to use a durso, can it handle the flow? On a related note, I have a spare no-brand (jebo) pump with a flow of 1200 l/hr; could I run the two pumps in a series to improve the head pressure; and would this effect the stand pipe sizing?
Secondly, I am thinking of turning my ASM mini into a recurculating skimmer. Is this as simple as hooking the overflow pipes into the skimmer and modifing the pump intake so that it takes water from the skimmer, adds bubbles and then pumps it back into the skimmer?
Also, I found some electical bulkheads at lowes. They have a gasket and all that but the connects are a little weird. Do you think I could trust these on a tank?
Thanks!
