7 feet tall aquarium, glass provider?

My question is not about reefs but maybe you can help me out. I want to build 7 feet tall aquarium.

3 feet large, 3 feet dept, 7 feet high.

The frame will be in steel, there will only be a glass on the front part. Do you know where i can find a thickness calculator for that off-normal size. Do you know a good provider, website or other ressource? :twisted:

I think there is a calculator out there somewhere, but I can't find it yet.

With a 7 feeter in glass, you are probably looking at 2 inch glasses or thicker. The green tint from the glass will be very noticeable, and I think you may want to consider laminated starphire glass or acrylic if you care about the appearance. Good luck.

It is in fact for a fashion photography shooting. There will be no fish... only models. The tint can be worked with Photoshop.

If it's for a photoshoot, go with acrylic. any local supplier could make a 3' tank.

Also the guy who had 'aquatic creations' store in NYC had a big tank like that.

I bought a tank about 6 months ago from a photography company. They did just what your planning on doing, put models inside of it for a photo shoot for I think it was Billabong or some other surfing brand. The tank was a smaller 36x36x48 but they used 1” acrylic. I believe for a tank that size acrylic would be cheaper. I have gotten quotes for larger tanks before and once you reach a certain size acrylic would run substantially cheaper.
