this is the way im thinking of doing the sump for my nano

can u tell me if its right and if it will work?

also what distances should the baffles be?

i want as big a refugium as possible

the skimmer will go in the first section, its a deltec mc 500 (Dimensions: Length: 8.25" Width: 3.5" Height: 21" Sump H2O Level Min 5", Max 12.5" ) it doesnt have a normal return like most skimmers the water flows out the side through a de gassing sponge

could any one please write in the measurments for me in the blank sump pic below, it would be a great help

IME the limiting factor with baffle spacing is leaving enough room to silicone them in place. For me this is usually a couple of inches apart. Personally I don't worry about the exact dimenions as I don't think it's critical.

As for the dividers to form the pump and skimmer chambers - that is basically dictated by the size of the equipment. Just make sure to leave yourself some room to get them out of the stand for cleaning/replacement.

Something else to consider is the divider height (ie. water level in the sump). Make sure to leave yourself some room in the sump for the water that will drain down from the main tank when the return pump is off.

Does that help?
