hi everyone

i have just made my juwel rio 180 cabinet big enough to get a sump in, i took the without the middle support out and re enforced it with 2x4 timbers, the gap is fairly small for the sump, i made that too, its 540mm long x 250mm wide x 300mm high

could u suggest a layout that would allow me to have my skimmer and a fuge as well as the return in the sump,i cant have the return outside now because i can drill the glass while its stuck together , the return pump is an OR 2500 so thats 8"x4" and the skimmer is a deltec mc500 and its dimesions are L 210mm W 90mm H 530mm

i have got a small tunze nano doc skimmer buts its not taking much gunk out of my nano tank so i think it would be a waste of time sticking it in this bigger tank

what do u think can it be done??

One of the more common configurations is to have the sump in the middle with the skimmer compartment on one side and the fuge on the other. Then to Tee off the overflow so it is split between the two end sections.

I would recommend you make the fuge section as large as possible.

You could also put the return pump in line with the return plumbing. That would free up space in the sump because the pump would external to the sump.

Just a couple of suggestions.
