One of the Becket injector tubes for my skimmer started leaking and then quickly came apart. I want to re-glue the joint between the black acrylic base the exterior surface of the PVC stand pipe. See the photo below. The clear tube gets pushed up against the bottom of teh PVC coupling.

I have PVC cement and Weldon #16 cement for acrylic sheet, but I'm not sure which to use. Any suggestions?

use the Weld-on - its thicker and will provide a better bond.

Agreed, Weld-On is what I would use too. Let it cure for a day or 2 before using it again.

Don't use either, weldon 16 will not bond to PVC.

I'm at work right now so I don't have my sheet handy, but when I get home I'll try to remember to post it.

Weld on 40 is the only one that permananly bonds PVC to acyylic.

I used the Weld-On 16. I will let it sit over the weekend and test the bond on Monday.

Do you have methylene chloride?

Let me check my coffee mug.

That's a legit suggestion. MeCl2 is a good solvent for both PVC and acrylic, and is one of the main ingredient in some WeldOn products.

Which is why I checked. But no luck - only cold coffee.

For this application weldon 16 will work fine. It might not be the best, but it is easy to do, and should hold it.
