I am setting up a 2 story fish rack with 8x 10g and 2x 20g glass tanks. I would like to hook up all the individual heaters(25w Marineland Stealth) to 1(or even 2) temp controllers to ensure a stable temp in all tanks. Would a Ranco single stage ETC-111000-000 be right for the job? Does anyone have pics of their fish rack that they would like to share? Thanks in advance!

Change of plan. I think I will have 8x 10g on one temp controller and then 4x 20g on another temp controller. Hmm... what else?

The only temperature control I have used in fishrooms, i.e. racks of tanks, is ambient air temperature, except one notable time where a water heater was used to warm water before entering tanks, in a completely open system (it didn't work well).

IF you have all the tanks on one controller plumbed together, it should work pretty well. But if you're going to plumb 8 tanks together, you might as well just get two 300W heaters instead of 8 100w heaters.

I think putting one temp controller controlling 8 different systems is a bad idea.

If you are going with 12 separate heaters, I'd go with Ebo Jagers. I've had mine for years and ahve never had a problem.

With that many tanks my fear would be that in the next year at least one heater will fail on.

I would just heat the room the tanks are in instead of the individual tanks.

I have 5 20 gal tanks all hooked t the same sump. I depend on two heaters in the sump to maintain heat in the whole system.
