MH ballasts

I am doing a diy canopy with MH lamps in it. I am trying to get some used 250W electronic ballasts for this project. Is it ok if I mix and match electronic ballasts from diff manufacturers as long as the wattage is the same?

Sure. But realize that different ballasts burn the same bulbs at different colors. So you might not like a certain bulb on one ballast, but like the other.

I am building a MH enclosed canopy for my 72g bowfront. I also want to know if the ballasts should be placed within the canopy. I have seen many pictures where it usually goes in the cabinet beneath the tank.

Couple more questions:

1) I am looking for LED/lunar lights. Where can I get them.
2) Fans. I am looking for quietest yet an efficient fan. Most people seem to be using PC fans. Where can I get them?

For moonlights - try Ebay. I've seen them cheap there.
