Gasket Material

Is the rubber gasket material that Home Depot sells safe to use in a reef system? Will it contaminate? It comes in a pack with two 6"x6"x 1/16" sheets.

Anyone use this material on there tank or sump bulkheads?

i only used it on my float valve to keep water from leaking when i turn off the pump and the sump fills up a bit...my sump is drilled for the float valve

Thanks for the info Auto. After reading Meschaefer's signiture i don't think that i will be cutting corners. Thanks for the reminder meschaefer.
