Well for the past couple of weeks i have been reading about scrubbers. What i have found is how amazing this is, i dont care about yellowing or what not but what i find so in genius about this is the idea. To help our tanks we resort to biological life which is way more appealing to me then anything fake in terms of plastic skimmers and what not, not that im saying they are bad, i love them too.
I have a Nano and recently i have slacked on takin care of my tank, now that i have my head back on correctly:splitspin i have gone back to taking really good care of it again water changes and what not, but the damage was done all the coraline algae died and some die off and little cycle, the animals/corals didnt die, but i do have alot of algae now.
What i plan on doing to my 28 gallon nano is building a scrubber for it. I did search to see if any people make them near me but couldnt find any.
My reasons for this scrubber are that i want algae gone and dont have to worry about overfeeding and i want more pods.
i plan on making a inclosed sump out of a plastic container with basically 2 screens and as many lights as i can fit into there. Maybe some chaeto or Bobs weeds( i have alot of it growing in my friends big tank, and i only started with like 3 leaves from when i bought LR from tobin.)
the reason i want it so big is b/c i wana add a Kalkawasser drip to it and increase my water volume, not by alot but some. Also i can add a fan to it to keep my temp a little more stable.
Right now its late but when i have time i will plan this out as best as possible and looking forward to ur help/comments. Gnight
